Understanding the benefits of a Powerflush.
There can be a multitude of benefits from Powerflushing a Central Heating System. If you have cold spots on your radiators, one radiator is not getting hot due to a blockage of a pipe leading to the radiators, pumps are regularly changed due to soot and grime that has accumulated in the system over the long period of time, radiators are hot at the top and cold at the bottom.
Most of the time this is due to iron oxide (rusty water), that has occurred due to the inside of the metal radiators constantly being submerged in water. A build up of the residue left over from this process then collects at the bottom of the radiator as this is too heavy to be pumped round the system by the stationary pump on the central heating system.
In order to prevent this occurring in the future, we usually advise the installation of a MagnaClean Filter, which collects the residue at a central point and can be cleaned at the time of a service.
If this sounds like the issues you are experiencing contact us and we can send an engineer round to rectify the problem.
If Powerflushing, you must flush the whole system to ensure that the residue doesn’t settle elsewhere on the central heating system. Failure to do this will render the Powerflush process worthless.
